ladder attachment

Postby rpriestleyandson on Tue Jul 27, 2010 11:05 pm

i want an attachment that will span the width of a sash and chord window about 800mm in width does anybody know of anything? there very tall windows and reaching the top off a ladder is a stretch, something that would spand the window so i could have my ladder higher would make life so much easier.

There was an accessory, I'm sure it was called a ''ladder limpet'' but I cannot find it ATM. It spanned a good metre or more if I recall.

Our forefathers used as Brian said, a lump of 3x2 lashed to the top of the ladders. I can't see the harm to be honest. I have done this countless times in the past. but if you are worried about litigation & all the nonsense that goes with it, then you should use a tower & add the costs for doing so on the job.
Don't piss on my back & then tell me it's raining

Thanks guys, thats what i normaly use wood accross the top. Just thought in a town centre i might get hassled by some health and safety inspectors who havnt much better to do than find faults with people daily work. I was working in a house once and the window cleaner was cleaning the windows and two chaps came accross, they were health and safety inspectors and they made him get down from his ladder because he had nobody footing it. This bloke was in his 60s who had done the same round for many years he couldent believe it.
