Forgive me if this topic has already been discussed, still a new boy here.
Had a leaflet drop though the letter box the other day about an outfit called Check a trade.com
Basically if you want to join, a rep comes out to you and probaly gives a sales pitch, they then vet you and check references, then when customers go on to the website they can search for a trademan ( or woman ) in the local area if they then click on your details, a window opens with a lot more info about you and what you do, its a bit like a mini website, once you have completed a job for a client they then have to fill out a reputation report card, what they thought of your workmanship, how you behaved in there home etc, this will then be posted on the website so everyone can read the comments, and the price for this well its not cheap £ 625.00 per year, but if it brings the work in , might be worth the price and thats really the only reason i would join, to real in new clients, I,ve done a search in my area and there are only two other deecy,s on it and they are more then 10 miles away, so not much compertition although that of course could change if this scheme takes off, seems to be run along similar lines to the Dulux select scheme, but for all trades, it nothing like Rated peeps, my hammer, qoute master and all the rest, would,nt touch them with a barch pole.
So boys and girls have any of you heard of this scheme, and if so what are your thoughts on it.
Enterian me
