Bib-n-Braces on Twitter

Postby Colin on Sat Jul 03, 2010 8:46 am

I've set up a feed so that posts on B-n-B go to a Twitter site.

So what, you may say.

Well, if you are signed up to Twitter, and follow the B-n-B site, you get all the post's from here as Tweets on your Twitter home. The important bit is that you can configure Twitter to send any Tweets from people you are following to your mobile phone as a text message - cool eh?

(apologies if I'm getting any of the terminology wrong here)

So now anytime someone posts on any of the forums here (apart from NOT the PDA forum) I get a text message with the subject, first few lines, and a link to the Tweet if I want to read more.

The only thing to remember is not to leave your phone on at night otherwise you get a text whenever Mistcoat is posting some wisdom in the middle of the night.

I will probably put a Facebook page for B-n-B up in the near future if anyone prefers Facebook, and you can do the same thing.

Obviously text messages will go to any phone, if you want to click on the link to the Twitter feed then your phone does need to be able to connect to the internet, but again, I think all phones can do that now

Sounds good, Colin. As you say, you need a Twitter account too.

My opinion is neither copyrighted nor trademarked, and it's price competitive. If you like, I'll trade for one of yours.
